The Cotswolds Guide in Partnership with Thyme

With many of the SB team growing up in the English countryside, what better place to launch our next popup! We’re thrilled to be hosted by the incredible Thyme Cotswolds, from their glorious Meadow Spa. Think of all the wonderful scenes from The Holiday but add in farm-to-table food, an award-winning spa, beautifully unique rooms and you’ve got Thyme.

We have a limited number of hour-long appointments available to book here, during which you’ll be able to see our finishes (more on our process here), enjoy a drink in the Meadow Spa on arrival and an exclusive discount at Thyme too.

To celebrate, we’ve sat down with the General Manager of Thyme and Co-Creative Director of Bertoli, Milly Hibbert to find out a few of her favourite spots - so whether you are celebrating a milestone birthday, creating a pregnancy sculpture or simply a celebrating yourself, why not make it an occasion to remember and visit somewhere new!

Thyme

Obviously!

Alfonso Gelateria

Delicious sorbets and ice creams. On a hot day last summer, the lovely team even gave pup cups for my two dogs

7a in Fairford

The most delightful brownies (and vegan sausage rolls!)

Worton Kitchen Garden

My secret hideaway spot for lunch on a sunny day. It’s a hidden garden with animals, and wild vegetable beds, a rustic gem.

The Victoria, Eastleach

It’s my go to. A lovely pub with picture perfect positioning in the gorgeous village of Eastleach.

The Straw Kitchen at Whichford Pottery

A delicious spot for brunch, lunch or tea and combined with a visit to the pottery makes it all the more worthwhile.

Penelope Chilvers

PC have just opened in the market town Stow-on-the-Wold.

Chippy Flower Farm

Open seasonally to drop in and buy freshly cut flowers, it’s a lovely hidden gem.

Burford Garden Company

This place has everything! For all your plant needs.

Antique-hunting in Tetbury

For an eclectic curation of stunning decorative antiques, head to Brownrigg or Lorfords in the historical market town of Tetbury.

Upton Smokery

You can buy fantastic produce and larder essentials—always the best quality, interesting artisanal brands from across Europe and beyond. My favorite is store cupboard essential is called Calabria (also known as bomba Calabrese or the Calabrian bomb), a traditional Italian fiery paste made from pickled vegetables and chillies. In the back of the smokery, there is a studio where Vigour & Skills team reside, selling wares from a curation of makers and artisans.

Chastleton House

A Jacobean pile lovingly cared for by the National Trust with beautiful views across towards Moreton in Marsh, it’s like walking back in time, so beautifully preserved.

The Bodleian Library

For a cultural day out Oxford is a destination. This library is a personal favorite because it houses sheets of music written by our ancestor Alessandro Bertioli, my great, great, great grandfather. (When you call Thyme, you may hear his Sonatina, which we found in the Bodleian Library, played by his great, great, great, great granddaughter Luísa).

Rousham

The gardens at Rousham are something to behold, a lovely place to wander and explore.
