Aimee Croysdill is the sartorial mastermind behind some of our favourite red carpet looks, styling the likes of Nicola Coughlan and Laura Haddock.

This year saw the successful launch of her kidswear brand Kiso Store, creating bold playwear designed to be loved, played in, handed down and loved again. Here, Aimee shares invaluable advice for new mothers, the importance of creating an ethical brand and the wardrobe staples she returns to year after year.

Do you have any daily rituals?

Hugs and chats with my daughter for a good 30mins every morning. Other than that I’m more of a ‘see how I feel’ kind of person day to day as to what movements I make.

Do you have a formula when getting dressed?

I’ve always been a baggy on top, tight on the bottom or legs out kind of person. I know it works best for my body shape and so I’ve stuck to it. I sometimes venture of of my comfort zone but mainly feel best when I stick to a format of simplicity. Learning not to follow trends and update the odd thing in my wardrobe has made life so much easier.

We love your kidswear brand Kiso Store - what was important to you when creating it?

Making sure I was producing a responsible and ethical brand was the core of it all. With my job the cut and shapes come second nature but I had to learn so much about the manufacturing side before fully going in the deep end and getting product made.

As a soon to be mother of 2 - what piece of advice do you pass on to new mums?

Gosh there’s so many. My sister taught me so many tricks…. Save your nipples in the first few weeks by applying lanolin and wearing cotton bras all the time even at night. Breastfeeding whilst lying down on your side saves you from sleep deprivation and make sure you put your unborn babies name down on nursery lists so when you go back to work you know they’re going somewhere you love and trust.

What is your hardest working purchase in your wardrobe?

Currently some Balenciaga sliders that are like wearing pillows and every winter I have/wear two oversized Acne heavy knit jumpers on rotation and I always pray they will release a new colour way.

We love the way you style Nicola (huge Bridgerton fans!) - what does a day in the life of a stylist look like and which element of your work brings you the most joy?

Speaking to PRs or designers, taking deliveries and researching are the main elements of my day to day work but obviously the best part is creating magical moments with women (my clients) who inspire me so much. Nicola inspires me huge amounts and we have so much fun.
