Bust Portraits : India Sehmi
Are you an early bird or night owl?
Night owl, but I’m always trying to be an early bird!
Tell us about the best present you’ve ever given or received?
I love photography, particularly during travels, and for my birthday this year my boyfriend James had some of my photos printed and framed which was so thoughtful. They now hang up our stairs and give me a daily dose of wanderlust.
What are you currently lusting after?
All things homewares! We’re getting a marble coffee table made, but I haven’t decided on the marble just yet!
Tell us about the positives that have come out of lockdown for you?
I feel I was hugely lucky during lockdown as I’ve had work, space at home and my friends and family have stayed healthy, all of which I’m enormously grateful for.
The start coincided roughly with when James and I were due to move in together so we’ve actually had almost a year of quality time, which has been rather blissful and allowed us to make a lot of interiors updates. The flat is almost unrecognisable compared with this time last year!
I was also able to dedicate more time to my blog and Instagram and it’s grown a lot over the last year, which has been so exciting.
What, in your eyes, is your greatest accomplishment to date?
I’ve always wanted to have my own business, so to be running one I’ve created myself, alongside a full-time job is something I am really proud of.
Your work is so varied and multi faceted - which element brings you the most joy right now?
I love the satisfaction of getting a great photo and feeling really excited about sharing it. That could be a photo of myself or a beautiful moment or thing that I’ve captured.
